On the 4th day of the 6th month in the Tibetan calendar, we commemorate the extraordinary and sacred occasion when our teacher, Shakyamuni Buddha, first turned the Dharma Wheel of the Four Noble Truths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After attaining enlightenment, the Buddha did not immediately begin teaching the Dharma. Instead, he remained in meditative silence for a period in the Deer Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At that time, Brahma and Indra offered a golden Dharma wheel and a white conch shell, respectfully requesting the Buddha to turn the Wheel of Dharma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, on this very day, the 4th of the 6th Tibetan month, the Buddha observed that the time had come and traveled to Sarnath (Varanasi), where he gave the first teaching on the Four Noble Truths to the five disciples, thereby initiating the first turning of the Dharma Wheel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On such an auspicious day, if Dharma assemblies such as the mandala ritual of the Four-Armed Tara are held, it is a time to recall the Buddha\u2019s original compassion and aspire for the unceasing turning of the Dharma Wheel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To mark this sacred occasion, RMBCC has prepared the mandala ritual of the Four-Armed Tara Puja, offering prayers for wisdom, compassion, and the flourishing of the Dharma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We warmly welcome all to join us in this special Dharma gathering to honor the Buddha\u2019s first turning of the Dharma Wheel and to cultivate the aspiration for the Dharma to turn unceasingly for the benefit of all sentient beings.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
